Bellevue Hill

The name says it all. Bellevue Hill has an elevated position with beautiful views – to the south is Bondi beach and to the north is Sydney harbour. Within moments Bellevue Hill’s residents can be down in Double Bay’s glamorous restaurants and stores, or Bondi’s hip cafes, bars and iconic beach, before retreating to their hillside abodes. With its grand, established homes, many on estate-sized blocks, and green-canopied streets lined with mature trees, this neighbourhood whispers old-money. Some of Australia’s wealthiest citizens and most expensive real estate can be found here. In fact, in 2022 Bellevue Hill has a median house price of $6.6million, making it the most expensive suburb in the country again. That’s not to say it’s all water-view mansions, there are more modestly sized homes, apartment buildings and new developments dotted here and there.

The green open space of Cooper Park is a beautiful spot for walking the pooch or having a picnic, and the village has cafes and boutiques. As you’d expect, Bellevue Hill is home to some outstanding schools, including The Scots College and Cranbrook School – both private boys schools. Bellevue Hill Public School is the well regarded local primary school.
